Random Quote of the Day
Cashier: Do you need a weight [for your balloons]?
Customer: I guess so. I didn’t expect them to go up in the air like that.
Note to Readers: Please, I beg of you, try to be kind to others. Especially others who happen to be busy. We had a woman come in last night while we were on the busy side, ringing people up, and she yelled for us to blow up balloon number 58. At least have the decency to wait two minutes when we’re not so busy.
And Josh is back, and teasing the little kids. Shall I share some lines (Josh is in bold):
– When are you going to get taller? When are you gonna get taller? (no response)
- You’re acting like a kid. Well, you’re acting like you’re two! Well, well, you’re … you’re one!
- Quit running around. You run around.
And the weird sight was watching Josh crawl on hands and knees down the pet aisle to scare the little kids …
Lesson Learned: Never mess with seven year olds. Their thought process will confuse you.

So I just got my job back at Dollar Alley, just last week. I was a bit nervous, but very excited. Almost instantaneously, I started getting requests to start up the blog again. So here I am, starting it again. Let me share with you some of the interesting things that have happened while I was gone:
About the Blog
- I’ve managed to get an average of 35 visitors per month despite the fact that I quit back in April.
- The most viewed pages have been “About Me and This Webpage”, ”Conclusions of a Dollar Store Employee”, and ”Josh Collins is Cool (or So He Thinks)”.
- I have recieved several messages and comments from people who have only read the last post I made – without reading the rest of the blog. Some found it hysterical anyway, but many were simply confused.
About the Dollar Alley
- We got new registers. Yes Murphy is no longer worked on every day. However, we are planning to get rid of the new registers and probably temporarily bring back the old registers. And I’ve heard rumors that Murphy has not been quite silenced …
- We now have another employee.
- A few items have gone up a quarter cause of the cost of things these days. On the other hand, stranger things have happened.
About Me
- I am now a senior in high school (yes, I finally finished junior year)
- I am back at the dollar store (but that was a given)
- I happen to like using parenthesis (that’s not obvious at all)
So yes!! I am SOOOO excited about starting this blog up again. I’m afraid you will have to wait for more stories.
Alright, alright, I suppose I’ll add one:
I was working with the new guy, and we had this woman come in to have her balloons filled. They were huge balloons, and we let her know that it would cost a little less than $5 to refill them. She gasps, picks up her balloon, and says, “Well, that’s crazy! I can just buy an entirely new balloon for $9!”
(some people can’t understand that five is actually less than nine …)
